Frequently Asked Questions:
About Pain, Performance, and Longevity
At Pierce Family Wellness, most people don’t come to us as their first stop.
They oftentimes come after physical therapy, chiropractic care, injections, or even surgery didn’t fully solve the problem.
That’s because we don’t just treat symptoms. We restore how the body actually functions.
Below are the most common questions we hear from clients who are ready for a different approach.
The fastest way to get out of chronic pain is to restore proper joint function, not just reduce inflammation or mask symptoms.
Most pain comes from a breakdown in how a joint distributes force. This includes muscle imbalance, ligament tension, joint capsule restriction, and neurological (brain) input. At Pierce Family Wellness, we address all of these factors together using manual therapy, segmental strengthening, and ELDOA.
When the joint regains its proper axis of rotation, pain often decreases quickly and stays away longer.
Pain usually comes back because the root cause was never fully addressed. Traditional approaches often focus on muscles or inflammation, but joints function as a system. If the capsule, ligaments, fascia, and neurological control aren’t working together, the body will continue to compensate. That compensation pattern is what brings the pain back. Our approach focuses on restoring the full system so the body no longer has to compensate.
Imaging like MRIs and X-rays show structure, but they don’t show function.
You can have “normal” imaging and still have poor joint alignment, limited mobility, and tension. Pain often comes from how forces move through the body, not just what the structure looks like.
We combine manual therapy, movement, and joint-specific training into one integrated system. Instead of separating treatment and exercise, we use myofascial stretching, joint pumping techniques, precision strength training, and ELDOA (joint decompression and brain-body connection). This allows us to both restore the joint and reinforce it through movement for results that last.
Traditional personal training focuses on general strength, conditioning, and fitness goals. Our approach focuses on how each individual joint functions within the system. We don’t just train muscles. We train joint positioning, connective tissue resilience, and movement efficiency and intelligence. This is why many clients come to us with pain and stay with us for long-term performance and longevity.
ELDOA is a specific method of creating space within a joint while activating the surrounding musculature and fascia. It helps decompress joints, improve disc hydration of the spine, stimulate proprioception, and reinforce joint stability. When applied correctly, ELDOA can reduce pain while improving long-term joint health.
SomaTraining is a system developed by Dr. Guy Voyer that integrates anatomy, biomechanics, and movement. It focuses on Joint-specific training, connective tissue relationships, and precision strength training. We use SomaTraining principles to ensure that each exercise directly supports joint health and function, not just general fitness.

Yes! Many of our clients come to us after trying multiple approaches. The difference is that we address the missing pieces like joint capsule function, ligament tension, stability, and coordination. When those are restored, the body often responds in a way it hasn’t before.
Most clients notice changes in pain and movement within the first few sessions. Long-term results depend on consistency, the severity of the issue, and how long the pattern has been present. Our goal is not just short-term relief, but lasting improvement in how your body functions.
Your first session includes a detailed assessment of posture and movement, evaluation of joint function and compensation patterns, hands-on manual therapy, and introduction to targeted exercises specific to your body. You’ll leave with both immediate changes and a clear plan moving forward.
Yes! Every program is individualized. No two bodies compensate the same way, so your plan is based on your joint function, your movement patterns, your goals (pain relief, performance, longevity). This is why our results are consistent across a wide range of clients.
